Gifted Education Services
Program Philosophy
The Strongsville City School system is committed to an instructional program that recognizes and provides for the unique needs and abilities of the individual student. The Programs for Academically Talented Students are a vital part of this commitment.
Policy Statement
In accordance with the belief that all students are entitled to education commensurate with their particular needs, gifted and talented students in the District must be provided an opportunity to progress as their abilities permit. The Strongsville City Schools Board of Education believes that these children require services beyond those offered in regular school programs in order to realize their potential contribution to themselves and to society.
Annually, children who are gifted are identified by professional qualified persons using a variety of assessment procedures. The Board encourages efforts to provide services for the children who are gifted as an integral part of the total kindergarten through grade 12 program.
