Eligibility
Please note that Kindergarten is mandatory in Ohio. According to State Law and District policy, any child who becomes five years old on or before August 18, 2026 is eligible for admission into the Strongsville City School’s Kindergarten program this August.
However, it isn’t mandatory to attend kindergarten in Ohio until a child is 6 years of age. If your child will be 6 years of age as of August 18, 2026 and has not attended kindergarten, you must register him/her for kindergarten.
If a child turns five after August 18, 2026 and there is interest in having them screened/tested for possible early entrance to Kindergarten, do not enroll the child in the district at this time. Call 440.572.7015 by May 10, 2026 for further information about early entrance.
