How You Can Help Your Child?

• Gather information that describes your child's disability... keep current
• Find resources in our community that will help your child
• Stay focused on all your child can do and less focused on what they cannot
• Know your child's goals (I.E.P.) and keep tabs on their progress
• Have open communication lines with your child's teachers, principal, and special educational providers
• Know that YOU are your child's best advocate. No one knows your child's needs like you do
• Seek support from other parents with special needs children
