Our District's Mission

As a school community, we will design premier educational experiences that develop innovative, resilient, collaborative, global, and empowered students who are architects of their learning, equipped to thrive in their future.

Rigorous, Diverse, Student Focused Program

  • Over 5,700 students participate in an exciting classroom atmosphere supported by an accredited and comprehensive curriculum, diverse student activities and clubs, engaging teachers, and committed support staff
  • Award winning instructional, instrumental, and vocal programs
  • A comprehensive high school curriculum, including twenty-seven (27) Advanced Placement course offerings and sixteen (16) Honors Courses 
  • 92% of students complete a college core curriculum
  • College admission test scores above state and national average
  • Seven (7) National Merit Commended Students, Four (4) National Merit Semi-Finalists & One (1) National Merit Finalist for the 2023-24 school year

 Facilities

  • Safe and well-maintained facilities and grounds include one (1) preschool, five (5) neighborhood elementary schools (grades K-5), one (1) middle school (grades 6-8), and one (1) high school (grades 9-12) with planetarium
  • New Strongsville Middle School opened August 2016
  • Completion of Strongsville High School renovation (January, 2017)
  • Completion of preschool renovation as well as critical repairs and upgrades to elementary buildings
  • Contemporary athletic facilities, including synthetic turf fields at middle school and high school
  • Up-to-date technology providing secure wireless access to school and student devices, interactive whiteboards in classrooms, 1:1 Chromebook/student ratio, and continuous professional development on the integration of technology into our learning environment
  • SCS is the largest employer in the City of Strongsville

Finances

  • Nationally recognized financial reporting for eight straight years (FY17 - FY24):
    • Recipient of the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) Meritorious Budget Award for budget presentation
    • Recipient of the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting for the District's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
    • Recipient of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the District's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)
  • Recognized by the Ohio Auditor of State with the Auditor of State Award with Distinction for the District's Financial Audit for five straight years
